ICYMI: SCOTUS Issues Narrow Ruling for Cake Baker, POTUS’ Pardon Power, and More – Justice & Drew 6.5.18 #TCNT

Tuesday morning on Justice & Drew we discussed the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, where the Court found that the Commission had displayed an anti-religious bias in violation of the First Amendment in the course of deciding whether Masterpiece Cakeshop could object to making a wedding cake for a same-sex couple on religious grounds (NOTE: the Court did not reach that underlying issue, leaving it to future determination).   Click here to listen to our discussion, which also touched on President Trump’s claim that he has the power to pardon himself, and the U.S. Department of Justice’s decision to appeal a lower court ruling that President Trump violated the First Amendment by blocking users from his personal Twitter feed.
