“3 And Out”: 3-0 – Gophers, Tommies and Johnnies All Notch Wins, The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 9.16.24
Every Monday during college football season on The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, Bob and I devote our 3 And Out Segment to a recap of Minnesota’s two Division I teams – the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and the University of St. Thomas Tommies – and its best non-Division I team, the St. John’s University Johnnies.
This past weekend, our featured teams all won, so we had our first “3-0 3 And Out” of this young college football season. The Gophers steamrolled Nevada 27-0, and Gophers kicker Dragan Kesich made history as the first Gophers kicker to make five 50+ yard field goals in his career. My alma mater, St. Thomas, rebounded after starting the season 0-2 with a 24-14 win against Black Hills State.
The star team of the week, however, was St. John’s. The 12th ranked Johnnies throttled No. 5 Wartburg 35-13 in a win that could have significant implications for playoff seeding. Following the win, the Johnnies are now ranked No. 6 in the NCAA D3 Top 25 and open MIAC play next weekend vs. Bethel.
We also did a brief recap of the Vikings’ 23-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
