“3 And Out”..and More; The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 9.2.24
On Monday morning, it was time for another edition of The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, and that means another of our weekly “3 And Out” segments, covering three stories which Bob lets me pick to discuss.
On this Labor Day, Bob and I did a bit of an extended chat with a “Pre-3 And Out” segment inspired by my reveals on social media during the past week of both my new digs in the IDS Center following my joining the Husch Blackwell firm as a partner in the firm’s Minneapolis office, and my Albertville, Minnesota satellite office known as the “Western Command Center”, or “WCC” for short. After discussing some of the signed items displayed in each office, we chatted about which Vikings from the team’s Super Bowl era deserve Hall of Fame status (with both of us agreeing that both Ed White and Chuck Foreman are the strongest candidates).
In the second segment, we did our weekly “3 And Out” segment, and given that we’re now into the college football season, our segment pivots to a weekly discussion of Minnesota’s two Division I teams (i.e., the Gophers and the Tommies), as well as the best non-Division I team; namely, the St. John’s University Johnnies. With the Gophers and Tommies both suffering season opening losses, the Johnnies (whose season doesn’t start until September 7) at least had some good news by being ranked #14 in the AFCA poll.
Bob then went on to post some great audio of historic football coach moments. Starting with Pat O’Brien as Knute Rockne, Bob moved on to then-Vikings Coach Jerry Burns’ legendary 1989 impassioned defense of his offensive coordinator, Bob Schnelker, and closed with another Vikings coaching legend, Dennis Green, with his famous (infamous?) “they are who we thought they were” postgame presser as Cardinals coach.
