“3 And Out”: Gophers and Tommies Hoops and Hockey News, UMD Hockey Has Good – and Bad – Week – and Super Bowl Predictions

On Monday morning, it was time for another edition of The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, and that means another of our weekly “3 And Out” segments, covering three stories which Bob lets me pick to discuss.

This week, our focus was college basketball and college hockey. Up first were the red hot University of Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s basketball team, who are presently riding a three game win streak, two of which came against ranked teams. Also winning this weekend were the St. Thomas men’s basketball team, who rebounded from a loss against Omaha to beat Kansas City. Boy, would it be something if the Gophers and Tommies ever faced each other. But I digress….

We then turned to hockey, with the University of Minnesota-Duluth having a good and bad week. First the good: the men’s hockey team beat defending National Champions Denver. The bad? The women’s team lost twice to St. Thomas, which was the UST women’s team’s first defeat of a nationally ranked team since their jump to Division I.

We closed with the St. Thomas men’s team who lost to Bemidji State on Sunday, which brought the Tommies’ seven game unbeaten streak to an end, and a brief discussion of the Super Bowl contestants and who we were pulling for.

You can listen to our discussion here.
