“3 And Out”: Gophers, Tommies in Trouble; Johnnies Move Up While Idle, The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 9.23.24
Every Monday during college football season on The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, Bob and I devote our 3 And Out Segment to a recap of Minnesota’s two Division I teams – the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and the University of St. Thomas Tommies – and its best non-Division I team, the St. John’s University Johnnies.
This past weekend, Minnesota’s two Division I teams struggled mightily. The Gophers lost 31-14 to Iowa and bid adieu to Floyd of Rosedale in the process. Looking at the rest of the Gophers’ schedule, it is difficult to find another winnable game for them.
As for our other D-I team, St. Thomas, they didn’t fare much better. A 64-0 drubbing at the hands of Lindenwood leaves questions as to how the Tommies stack up against teams with scholarship programs.
Ironically, the third of our 3 And Out teams, the Johnnies, who were idle, had the most positive news, moving up in the D-III rankings as a result of other ranked teams’ results.
We also did a brief recap of the Vikings’ decisive 34-7 victory over the Houston Texans.
