“3 And Out”: Johnnies Are MIAC Champs, Tommies Are Sub-.500, and the Gophers Are…Idle? The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 11.18.24
Every Monday during college football season on The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, Bob and I devote our 3 And Out segment to a recap of Minnesota’s two Division I teams – the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and the University of St. Thomas Tommies – and its best non-Division I team, the St. John’s University Johnnies.
This past Monday, we led off with the Johnnies’ defeat of Bethel to capture the MIAC conference championship. After finishing the regular season 10-0 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC, the Johnnies drew a first round bye in the NCAA Division III playoffs and look poised to make a possible championship run.
The Gophers were on a bye week ahead of a big game vs. ranked Penn State.
My Tommies, meanwhile, lost their third straight Pioneer League game, this time to Butler, 36-20. The Tommies drop to 5-6, which is not characteristic of this program. Suffice it to say, this UST fan is worried.
