“3 And Out”: Johnnies Go Undefeated; Gophers, Tommies Disappoint, The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 11.11.24

Every Monday during college football season on The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, Bob and I devote our 3 And Out segment to a recap of Minnesota’s two Division I teams – the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and the University of St. Thomas Tommies – and its best non-Division I team, the St. John’s University Johnnies.

This week we discussed the Johnnies’ 55-6 rout of St. Olaf, which resulted in an undefeated regular season and sets up a MIAC playoff game between St. John’s and Bethel.

As for our other two 3 And Out teams, well….

The Gophers, in classic Gophers fashion, followed up their upset of No. 24 Illinois last week by losing an eminently winnable game vs. Rutgers. The loss ends a four game winning streak and suddenly puts the maroon and gold on a path to a repeat appearance in the Quick Lane Bowl (or whatever they call it these days).

My Tommies dropped a second straight game against a Pioneer League opponent, this time being conference leader Drake, spoiling St. Thomas’ homecoming.
