“3 And Out”: Reflections Upon the First Games of the 2025 MLB Season, The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 3.31.25

Every Monday morning, it’s time for another edition of The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, and that means another of our weekly “3 And Out” segments, covering three stories which Bob lets me pick to discuss.
This week, with the 2025 Major League Baseball season opening, our topics were all about baseball. First up was the local ballclub. The Twins have followed up a disappointing offseason where ownership was focused more on selling the team (they didn’t) instead of signing free agents who could help the team improve upon its 2024 performance. They have started the season 0-3 for just the sixth time in the club’s 65 year history, contradicting the fearless prediction of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz:

Next up was the story of Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich, who won Opening Day fashions with his homage to the late, great Brewers announcer Bob Uecker, sporting a custom made replica of Uecker’s plaid suit featured in the move Major League when he played announcer Harry Doyle.
Our final topic was the debut of the “torpedo bat“, a reconfigured bat which supposedly places more of the lumber mass near the spot where the bat makes contact with the ball. The New York Yankees debuted the bat against the Brewers, prompting debate as to whether their early homerun numbers may be attributable to the new bats.
