3 And Out: Reusse’s Rap Rant, Tommies Go for Top of Summit, and WNBA Players Threaten Strike, The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 3.10.25

On Monday morning, it was time for another edition of The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, and that means another of our weekly “3 And Out” segments, covering three stories which Bob lets me pick to discuss.
First up was the weekend hubub over on X when StarTribune columnist Patrick Reusse complained about a rap song called “Brass Monkey” being played at US Bank Stadium during a Gophers baseball game:
Predictably, allegations of racism ensued, even though (wait for it) “Brass Monkey” is a song by the Beastie Boys, who were an all-white rap group.
Nonetheless, the virtual knives were out (primarily from die-hard Gophers sports fans who don’t like Mr. Reusse’s oft critical attitude towards their favorite programs) and, shortly thereafter, the columnist deleted his X account:
Next up, it was the St. Thomas men’s basketball team, who had the chance to win the Summit League title on Sunday night. However, their opponent, Omaha, had already clinched the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament due to what Barstool Sports referred to as “the Dumbest Rule in College Sports.” In the end, my Tommies lost, thereby saving the NCAA from an uncomfortable conversation.
Finally, we discussed the recent comments from Angel Reese that WNBA players may go out on strike if they don’t receive pay on par with NBA players. Trouble is, the WNBA has lost money every one of its 29 years in existence.
