“3 And Out”: SCOTUS Stays Implementation of Biden Administration’s Title IX Changes, CHL Sues NCAA, and Wrigley Field to Host Big Ten Hockey, The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 8.19.24

On Monday morning, it was time for another edition of The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, and that means another of our weekly “3 And Out” segments, covering three stories which Bob lets me pick to discuss.

This week, we added a couple of “bonus” items to the usual three, with an introductory discussion about my joining the firm of Husch Blackwell as a partner in their Minneapolis office (my first day happened to be the day of our taping) and a closing “honorable mention” of the performance of our 8 1/2 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Finnegan, in obtaining his NADD Dock Senior Advanced title and an invite to Regionals over the weekend.

As for the three topics, we started with a discussion of the U.S. Supreme Court upholding an emergency stay of proposed changes to Title IX by the Biden Administration. Then it was another legal matter, this time from the hockey world, where the Canadian Hockey League has sued the NCAA and certain schools (including my alma mater, the University of St. Thomas) for unfair competition issues. We wrapped up our topics by discussing the recently announced Big Ten Hockey series to be held next January at historic Wrigley Field.

You can listen to our discussion here.
