“3 And Out”: Twins Bid Adieu to Two in Free Agency, Tommies Men’s Hoops On a Roll, and CFB Playoff’s First Round is a Dud, The BS Show With Bob Sansevere, 12.23.24

On Monday morning, it was time for another edition of The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, and that means another of our weekly “3 And Out” segments, covering three stories which Bob lets me pick to discuss.

This week, we talked about the departures of Max Kepler and Carlos Santana from the Twins via free agency, the latter being especially concerning given that it creates a void at First Base as well as the fact that he signed with the division rival Cleveland Guardians. The sale of the team to an ownership group who wants to put a competitive product on the field at Target Field cannot come soon enough….

Next up, it was the red hot University of St. Thomas men’s basketball team, which won its sixth straight on Saturday night, beating Bowling Green.

Finally, we discussed the first round of the CFB Playoff, which we agreed is an interesting concept, that being the idea of teams hosting meaningful playoff games. The problem was, the first round of games was anything but meaningful.

We ended our discussion with a bit of Vikings talk. As I said during the show, while I am very pleasantly surprised that a team that was predicted to win 6 games is sitting at 13-2 and tied for the NFC’s best record, the Purple’s track record during my lifetime (1987, 1998, 2000, 2009, 2015 and 2017) tempers my enthusiasm.
