Another Monday morning, another trip into the studio to talk with Justice & Drew about the latest legal wranglings between the Minnesota Legislature and Governor Mark Dayton regarding his line-item veto of the Legislature’s funding. Today we discussed the Friday filings by the Governor and the Legislature on the issue of whether the courts have the authority under the Minnesota Constitution to order funding for the Legislative Branch (because the Court has previously opined that the citizens of Minnesota are constitutionally entitled to a Legislative Branch). You can listen to our discussion here.
As the Legislature v. Dayton saga continues, please be sure to check out our earlier discussions about this case from the September 11, August 28, July 20, June 14 and June 27 shows. I have included links to the original complaint the District Court order and the Minnesota Supreme Court order in this case in the prior posts.
