“3 And Out”: Gophers Come Up Short vs. Illinois (Again), and Johnnies On the Bubble, The BS Show, 11.6.23

Every Monday during college football season on The BS Show with Bob Sansevere, Bob and I devote our 3 And Out Segment to a recap of Minnesota’s two Division I teams – the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and the University of St. Thomas Tommies – and its best non-Division I team, the St. John’s University Johnnies.

This past weekend, the Gophers saw their chance at the Big Ten West title vanish with an all-too predictable loss to Illinois. The Johnnies rolled to a big win over St. Olaf, but they’ll be playing Concordia-Moorhead in the MIAC third place playoff game and hoping for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs. The Tommies, meanwhile, were idle, and will close out their season next weekend vs. San Diego.

We also briefly discussed the Vikings’ improbable victory Sunday vs. the Atlanta Falcons, which saw a comeback engineered by quarterback Josh Dobbs, who wasn’t even on the roster a week earlier.
