Change of Domicile Under Wisconsin’s New LLC Law

This week’s edition of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s InsideTrack publication includes an article of mine discussing how to change a limited liability company’s domicile under Wisconsin’s new LLC Act. You can read the article here.

I have been a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin since March 2006 and I am currently serving on the Board of the Non-Resident Lawyers Division. I am very proud to have this article published.

The topic of LLC conversions and change of domicile – sometimes called re-domestication – is something that I am quite familiar with. I have completed several of these transactions in my 22+ years of practice, and my chapter in the Minnesota LLC Deskbook covers how to carry out such a conversion under Minnesota’s LLC Act (which, following the passage of Wisconsin’s new law, looks very similar).
