Real Estate Radio Hour Legal Minute, October 2012- Estate Planning

October’s Legal Minute segments focus on some real estate-related issues involving estate planning.  My colleague, Karen Schlotthauer, who focuses her practice on all aspects of estate planning, helped out this month with some very important topics.  We discuss the issues presented when trying to plan for transferring the family farm in an estate plan, always an important topic for many Minnesotans.  We also cover planning for incapacity, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts (also known as “QPRTs”) and the various ways in which real estate can be transferred upon one’s death outside of probate.
