Should the U of M Be Returned to the Native Americans? The BS Show, 4.17.23
Starting from the philosophy of the late George Bernard Shaw that “the secret to success is to offend the greatest number of people”, Bob and I devoted our Monday segment on The BS Show to a discussion of a recent news story detailing wrongs committed by the University of Minnesota against Native Americans in connection with its founding. Given the call for reparations, Bob and I discuss what we feel would be a “win-win” for both Native Americans…and Minnesota taxpayers; namely, give the “U” back to the tribes. Not only will that serve as reparations, but it will greatly reduce the amount of funds which Minnesota collects from its taxpaying citizens to fund the school. Plus, think of how much happier everyone in the state will be without having to endure any further soul-crushing losses by any of the Golden Gopher athletic teams.
I have no doubt that the State of Minnesota will ignore this brilliant solution.
