The Advisors, March 14, 2011: What Business Owners Need To Know About Commercial Leasing

Today on “The Advisors”, my partner Greg Miller joined me to discuss the very important topic of commercial leasing and, in particular, what business owners need to know before they lease space for their business.

Greg and I discussed with the show’s host, Pamela Muldoon, everything from the types of commercial space available (Class A, Class B or Class C), the types of lease structures (gross vs. net), what the heck “CAM charges” are, as well as a whole host of other important terms commonly used in the leasing process.  Greg closed out our discussion with a good explanation of some common lease renegotiation strategies such as a “blend and extend.”
