The Latest in the George Floyd Matter and Thoughts on the Barrett Confirmation Hearings, Justice & Drew, 10.14.20

Wednesday morning I was on air with Justice & Drew following another flash of the “bat signal.” This time we talked about the latest developments in the trial of the officers charged in the death of George Floyd; namely, the prosecution’s attempt to exclude Mr. Floyd’s 2019 arrest – which involved similar circumstances to his May 2020 arrest which led to his death – from evidence in the officers’ trial. As I write this today, Judge Peter Cahill on Thursday ruled that evidence of Floyd’s 2019 arrest was, in fact, admissible in the present case.

We also discussed the first two days of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s confirmation hearings on Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
